abstract = "The requires new techniques for continuous monitoring of been
crops. The state of Rio Grande do Sul is the third largest producer
of soybean in Brazil. It is known that the variability of the
rainfall occurred in the state is the main cause of loss of crops
and in the soil water balance the largest output is given by
evapotranspiration. There is consensus among the scientific
community that the Energy Balance is a technique for obtaining
precise and accurate evapotranspiration. The purpose of this study
was to estimate from MODIS data, the components of energy balance.
The data obtained from the images were compared with in situ
measurements obtained by an Eddy Correlation tower. The study area
included the Macro Regi{\~a}o Noreste of State. Thirteen days
were analyzed among the soybeans crop cycle of years 2008/2009 and
2009/2010. The selected days include a clear sky days .The results
from the in situ measurements indicated a net radiation of 173
W/m2 which 75% was as latent heat flux, 20% by sensible heat flux
and, 5% by heat flow in soil. A comparison of data obtained from
the images showing adjustments with r2 of 0.81, LE with r2 of 0.52
for G with r2 of 0.32 and H with r2 of 0.36. It was observed that
adjustments G and H were less influenced by three specific dates
on which vegetation was not 100% coverage. The results was showed
consistent relationships exist between components of energy
balance obtained by remote sensing and micrometeorological
                         tower.",
